Program 01 · Bus & Generator Data
One generator description.
A verifiable record for each unit.
A source cell may describe several generators, while the output requires one row per unit. The combination must be expanded and checked against the source's installed capacity.
Fully synthetic data · Illustrates the processing approach
Source: one cell describes three generators
| Generation type | Unit combination (MW) | Installed capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Hydro | 2 × 120 + 1 × 60 | 320 MW |
Expand the combination. Keep the difference separate.
2 × 120 + 1 × 60 MW
The first group maps to two 120 MW units; the second maps to one 60 MW unit.
Installed capacity is used for review, not to redistribute individual unit capacities.
Output: three generator records
| Generator | Capacity (MW) |
|---|---|
| Generator 01 | 120Combination: 2 × 120 MW |
| Generator 02 | 120Combination: 2 × 120 MW |
| Generator 03 | 60Combination: 1 × 60 MW |
The combination total differs from the source's installed capacity by 20 MW. Fill from the combination and flag the difference for user review.
Wind generation uses a different record structure.
Create one record per plant using its original installed capacity, rather than expanding individual units.
| Original installed capacity | Output records | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| 180 MW | 1 plant record | 180 MW |
What else does this program check?
Program 01 generates 03 Bus Data and 06 Generator Parameters, which may share one output workbook. Unparseable combinations require review. Valid combinations with capacity differences still produce details and a discrepancy note. This page illustrates one part of the process.
